Canes Dealing With Injuries & Suspensions
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami will likely be without a few starters in the home finale against the University of South Florida Bulls on Saturday.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, wide receiver Rashawn Scott's indefinite suspension will last at least another week. Scott was the team's second-leading receiver before being suspended last week.
Scott had caught 35 passes for 512 yards and three touchdowns before being suspended prior to last Saturday's loss to the Virginia Cavaliers.
The Sun-Sentinel also said that outside linebacker Eddie Johnson is still under suspension, but he may be available for Saturday's game. Officially, Johnson's status is to be determined, but head coach Al Golden said Johnson's suspension was football-related, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
In some good injury news for the Canes, linebacker Denzel Perryman returned to practice and according to Manny Navarro of CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald Perryman was "looking good."
