Canes Cornerback Heading For NFL
MIAMI (CBS4) - The University of Miami has major problems with a weak recruiting class and major improvements being made in Tallahassee and Gainesville. Now, the "U" will have to build a new defense under new coach Al Golden without the team's top cover-cornerback Brandon Harris.
Monday, Harris announced that he is leaving the school for the NFL Draft. Harris said the NFL Draft Advisory board gave him good news and he felt the time was right to make the jump.
"After talking to my family and talking to my mom and my dad and my brother, we just felt like as a family, we weighed the pros and cons of staying and leaving," Harris said in a statement released by the school. "I just decided it was in my best interest to take this great opportunity I have in front of me and pursue my career at the next level."
Harris complimented the new staff being put together by Golden and also said he consulted former Canes coach Randy Shannon before making his final decision.
