Californian Leading FSU's NCAA Attack
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Michael Snaer was the California player of the year and a McDonald's All American who passed up chances to join any of several of the nation's traditional powerhouses to make a difference at a school trying to climb into the elite.
Florida State's program was inviting to Snaer even if it was nearly 2,000 miles from his Moreno Valley, Calif. home.
Snaer's goals coincided with coach Leonard Hamilton, who has led Florida State out of the ashes and to its first Atlantic Coast Conference title. The third-seeded Seminoles will play St. Bonaventure Friday in Nashville, Tenn.
The ACC tournament's most valuable player, Snaer averages 14.5 points a game and shoots 42.1 percent from 3-point distance, leading the Seminoles in both categories. And he might be better on defense
