Bucs Trying To Re-Sign Davin Joseph
TAMPA, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have opened camp with most of their rookies signed and the team focused on signing at least one of the team's free agents.
The Bucs signed Da'Quan Bowers Wednesday afternoon after drafting him in the second round of the NFL Draft. He was expected to be a pick as high as number one overall, but questions about his health caused his stock to plummet.
Bowers has been given a clean bill of health by Bucs doctors and was on the field when the Bucs opened training camp.
The Bucs have a big hole on the offensive line as camp opened because the team still hadn't signed free agent guard Davin Joseph. The former Oklahoma Sooner has been a key cog in the team's offensive line and helps protect franchise quarterback Josh Freeman.
For his part, tight end Kellen Winslow said that it would be "disappointing to see him leave."
The Bucs have said that getting Joseph re-signed is a top priority of the team.
