The victim ignored the advances and went inside the gas station to withdraw money from an ATM.
"He said, 'hey you're really pretty' and I got in my car and drove off," the victim said.
She got into her car and left for a friend's house, but changed her mind and went home.
As she drove into her apartment complex, police said she noticed someone tailgated her through the guard gate.
The victim got out of her car and walked her dog for a brief moment, but a man approached her with romantic advances again.
She got back into her car and when she attempted to get out again, the man approached her with a knife in hand, police said.
"And then he took me by the back of my head with a handful of my hair ripped out and put the knife on my neck," said the victim.
She screamed getting the attention of neighbors and the man grabbed the victim holding a knife to her throat and tried to get the victim to tell the neighbors she was his wife and they were having a fight.
The neighbors didn't believe it.
"And he said 'I need to hear from her she's okay' and I wouldn't say anything, the victim explained.
The neighbors called police.
According to the victim, the man demanded the money she got from the ATM.
The man then fled in his car.
While the woman is okay, the incident has had long-lasting impacts.
"It's like I'm scared to leave my house and walk my dog it's terrible," the victim added.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall Hispanic male, weighing about 150 lbs.
He had a pointed goatee and distinctive acne scars on his cheeks. He was seen driving a dark gray, four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact BSO Detective Christopher DeGiovanni at 954-518-0154 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
