POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) - He couldn't get into the store his first time so he waited -- three hours -- before trying again. And after stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of perfume, the Broward Sheriff's Office wants to put the man in jail.
Surveillance cameras outside the Perfume Price in Pompano Beach rolled on Sunday evening November 23. A cargo van backed in and a man in a dark hoodie -- shielding his face from the camera and with a crowbar in hand -- walked up and then left.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says he could not get into the business.
Three hours later, the van returned. This time the man succeeded in getting into the business, BSO says.
He is seen with a dolly carting out numerous boxes. Investigators say there were pricey perfumes inside totaling $35-thousand dollars. The clumsy thief might have damaged some of his take by dropping boxes on the ground.
A short time later he left in the van, which had its' license plate obscured. BSO says the man appeared to know exactly where the cameras were on the business and that want anyone who knows the thief to turn him in.
The owner of the Perfume Price did not want to talk on camera but he said his business here in a nondescript, out of the way warehouse area is still open and filling orders.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
