BSO Deputy Charged With Beating, Strangling Girlfriend
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A Broward County Sheriff's deputy has been jailed after he allegedly violently attacked his girlfriend Sunday. He now faces two domestic battery charges.
56-year-old Deputy Theodore Miller called his colleagues to his home Sunday, claiming he had been attacked by his girlfriend, Tracey Turk. Miller, nearly 6 feet tall and 250 lbs, told deputies he had been head-butted on his head by Turk.
However, when Turk was questioned, she claimed she had been struck, strangled, and even spit in the face by the BSO deputy.
The arrest report said the two had been dating for about a year, and had been living together for the last 7 months.
The relationship turned violent Sunday, according to the arrest report.
She said Miller grabbed her by the wrist and made her fall to the floor, where she claims he straddled her and held her arms over her head, head butting her and spitting in her face.
Turk claims Miller then hit her in the eye, repeatedly, with his fist. Grabbing her wrists like she was handcuffed. Miller allegedly forced her hands to Turk's throat, applying pressure and making it hard for her to breathe.
By the time BSO arrived, both Miller and Turk had injuries, and were taken to the hospital. Miller had a few cuts and scratches, but investigators described a litany of Turk's injuries: bruises on her right and left arms, her right cheek, right knee and her back.
After his initial call claiming Turk had hit him, Deputy Miller refused to talk with his colleagues from BSO. He was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery by Strangulation and simple Domestic Battery.
Bond was set at $2 thousand.
