BSO Arrests Trio Of Fast Food Robbers
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff's Office has arrested three people thought to be behind a string of fast food restaurant robberies, one of which was caught on surveillance video.
A group could be seen on the video storming into a McDonald's in Dania Beach on August 31st.
Investigators said Andre Dukes, 25, and Jose Luis Abreu, 19, were responsible for robbing another McDonald's in Oakland Park and a Papa John's in Weston.
Another person, Shekinah Lewis,18, was arrested for her alleged involvement in the Papa John's robbery.
All three are being held in the Broward County main jail.
Police said in one of the robberies, Abreu took a bite out of a chicken McNugget, dropped it on the floor and now that evidence is being tested for DNA.
Lewis and Dukes were charged with armed robbery and wearing a mask while committing a felony. Abreu faces a federal charge of obstructing commerce by robbery, by means of actual and threatened force.
