BSO Arrest Alleged Child Molesting Youth Pastor
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that a church youth pastor in Lauderdale Lakes has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a boy.
Jeffrey London, 48, was arrested at his home Wednesday night. The alleged victim in the case said he lived with London for more than a decade and he was repeatedly abused during that time.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim alleged the battery happened twice a week and that London would buy the victim a video game. As the victim got older, London allegedly offered money in exchange for sexual acts, according to BSO.
According to the BSO, the victim's mother left him in London's care when he was eight-years-old after running into financial hardship.
"He's been living with this child from the ages of 8-18, the abuse began right away," said Det. Julie Bower of the BSO.
BSO said London was involved with the Bible Church of God and worked as the Dean of Students at Eagle Charter Academy in Lauderdale Lakes from 2003-2009.
Neither Miami-Dade County Public Schools, nor Broward County Public Schools have a record of London ever working for them, according to BSO.
London faces four counts of sexual battery on a child and one count of sexual battery.
BSO detectives asked the public that if they were victims or have any information about London to call 954-321-4240 or 954-493-TIPS (8477).
"Apparently, he would have a lot of young boys over at his house and spend the night," Det. Bower. "And from my victim's statement there could be other victims. God forbid it happened. If it did happen, please let us help you."
