Broward Voters Cast Votes In Municipal Elections
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - Voters in eight Broward County municipalities are going to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots on a number of local issues.
The polls, which opened at 7 a.m., will stay open until 7 p.m. Anyone in line at 7 p.m. will be able to cast their ballot. Voters must bring a signed photo ID such as a driver's license, a passport, a military ID or a student ID.

In Dania Beach, voters will be selecting two new commissioners. Candidates running for the positions include Chickie Brandimarte, Pat Flury, Bobbie H. Grace and Patrick Phipps. They will also vote on a number of issues concerning the city manager position, term limits, a charter amendment, planning and zoning, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Board.
In Deerfield Beach voter will also elect two new commissioners to fill the District 1 and District 2 seats. Current District 2 Commissioner Sylvia Poiter, criticized recently for alleged ethical lapses, is trying to fend off three challengers: Gloria J. Battle, Ben Preston and Annette Scott Woods.
Voters in Hillsboro Beach will cast their ballots for three town commission seats and Lighthouse Point voters will be voting for either Rebecca 'Becky' Lysengen or Glenn Troast to fill a city commission seat.
Voters in Miramar will be choosing between John L. Moore and Lori C. Moseley to be the city's next mayor; they'll also be voting to fill a commission seat.
Oakland Park voters will be casting ballots to fill two commission seats and in Plantation voters will choose between Diane Veltri Bendekovic, Jerry Fadgen and Warren Meddoff to be the city's next mayor. They'll also fill three city council positions.
Pompano Beach voters will choose between four candidates to fill the District 4 Commission Seat.
Turnout is expected to be light.
