Broward Turnpike Section Closed Again Wednesday Night
POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A section of the Florida Turnpike in Broward is scheduled to be closed to traffic again Wednesday night so crews can complete the installation of new signage.
According to the state's Department of Transportation, all northbound and southbound lanes between Commercial Blvd (Exit 62) and Coconut Creek (Exit 67) will be closed 11:00 p.m. and re-open at 5:00 a.m on Thursday.
Northbound drivers will be detoured off the Turnpike at Commercial Blvd and then directed east to SR7 / US 441. Drivers can then re-enter the Turnpike at the Coconut Creek entrance. Southbound drivers will be detoured off the Turnpike at Coconut Creek and then directed west to SR7 / US 441. Drivers can the reenter the Turnpike at Commercial Blvd.
The sign replacement is part of the Broward widening project. The last phase of the project consists of an additional northbound lane being built between Sunrise Blvd & Atlantic Blvd and is projected to be completed this summer.
