Broward Sheriff's Deputy Injured In Domestic Incident

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - An off-duty Broward Sheriff's deputy was injured after being attacked at an apartment complex in Lauderdale Lakes early Monday.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. in a gated apartment complex in the 2700 block of Sommerset Drive.

"The resident of the home, her ex-boyfriend showed up at the house and became combative. He injured the other male who was inside the property who was an off-duty BSO deputy," said sheriff's office spokeswoman Keyla Concepción,

The injured deputy was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with a police escort. The officer suffered serious injuries and is listed as stable.

The man who attacked him was taken into custody.
