Broward Giving Away Free Paint

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) - So what happens to all the latex paint dropped off at Broward County's dumps and household hazardous waste sites?

It's blended together and on Sunday it will be given away for free to Broward residents. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. county residents can get up to 20 gallons of the recycle paint at no charge at the North Trash Transfer Station located at 2780 N Powerline Road in Pompano Beach.

The paint is available in four colors: beige, terra-cotta, grey and turquoise and is for residential use only.

Those interested in the paint must provide proof of residency in the county.

Residents are responsible for verifying their municipality's and homeowner's associations paint color restriction ordinances prior to painting their homes.

Miami-Dade makes recycled paint in various colors available free of charge to county residents daily under their Chem-Again program.  The paint, along with other recycled products like motor oil and cleaners, are available at the county's two Home Chemical Collection (HCC) Centers.  Click Here for more information.
