Brevard Kitesurfer Bitten By A Shark
BREVARD CO. (CBSMiami) – A Central Florida man has the distinction of being the first person to be bitten by a shark this year in the state.
Justin Worrall, 19, said he was kitesurfing near Playa Linda Beach when suddenly felt a pinch, a pull and then pain. A four foot shark had sunk 22 of its teeth in Worrall's leg.
Bleeding profusely from his wound, Worrall used his kiteboard to get away from the shark and back to the beach where his waiting brothers rushed him to the hospital.
He then spent about four hours there getting his leg cleaned, stitched and bandaged.
