MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The University of Miami was hit with NCAA sanctions Tuesday for the Nevin Shapiro scandal, but the penalties were not nearly as severe as some speculated they would be in the early stages of the case.
Below is a breakdown of the NCAA penalties provided by the collegiate governing body:
- Public reprimand and censure.
- Three years of probation from October 22, 2013, through October 21, 2016.
