Boyfriend Sets Girlfriend On Fire
LAKELAND, Fla. (CBSMiami) — A 26-year-old woman is in critical condition nursing severe burns at a central Florida hospital after her boyfriend set her on fire, according to authorities.
Lakeland Police Chief Lisa Womack says the woman was taken to a hospital Friday night. Witnesses reported seeing the woman on fire run from a home.
Police say the woman's boyfriend set her on fire and then stole a van. Later that evening, police say the man burglarized a home and then tried to use a stolen credit card at a gas station.
Womack says the man was taken into custody Saturday morning. Additional details about his arrest were not immediately available.
