Bosh Says He's Ready To Hit The Ground Running In 2013
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat will start the 2013-2014 season with one goal in mind, a three-peat. But, the Heat and its fans also know that the upcoming season could be the last with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh as a unit in Miami.
CBS4's Jim Berry sat down with Bosh for an exclusive interview as he puts the finishing touches on a full offseason and prepares for another run at a third straight NBA championship. Bosh sounded like man ready to continue playing in South Florida for a long time and said he's ready to hit the ground running."
"I've realized this summer how much I love basketball and how much I love being with the guys in the locker room," Bosh said. "It's a great experience with the team. I mean playing in Miami; you don't get much better than that."
Bosh told CBS4 that he was well aware of the recent social media dispute between Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and Bosh's teammate, D-Wade. Bosh said it was good for the team and that perhaps Durant should avoid trying to fire up the Heat.
"In this case, maybe it's smarter to let the sleeping dogs lie, but yknow, I'm glad it happened. We need Dwyane, we need him to do well, and you know, he's going to have to prove a lot of people and continue to do it," Bosh said.
Of course the biggest question surrounding the Heat for the next year will be whether LeBron James will stay with the team next July. For Bosh, he said he's not worried about the future.
"We just have to concentrate on this season," Bosh said. "We need to make sure we get to where we want to go so we can have a chance to accomplish our goals. We accomplish our goals, everything else falls into place."
