Bond Reduced For Former Opa Locka Cop
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Miami-Dade judge has set bond for a former Opa locka police officer accused of punching a man in 2012 during a domestic disturbance call.
Originally held on no bond, a judge determined German Bosque could be released after posting $50,000 bond. If he is released, he will be placed on house arrest.
Bosque, a former police sergeant, has been charged with kidnapping, battery and tampering with evidence.
After Bosque allegedly punched the man, the victim tried to go to the police station and file a complaint. Bosque forcefully removed him from the lobby, handcuffed him and placed him in a holding cell.
Bosque has been fired eight times in his career and has always gotten his job back.
Opa locka's City Manager David Chiverton said the department fired him again last October and he's hopeful that this will end as the city is trying to clean up its image.
"We want to ensure our community that we are working in the best interest, image, and respect of the community is always the highest priority. We are committed to that," said Chiverton.
