Bond Court Hearing For Parkland Woman Accused In Robbery, Murder
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Parkland woman accused in the murder of a man during a robbery was scheduled to appear in bond court on Thursday.
Danielle Sachs, 33, along with 27-year old Jonathan Forster, is charged with first degree murder in the death of 70-year Jeffrey Blaugrund of Pompano Beach.
According to investigators, on October 15th, Blaugrund picked up Sachs and Forster from a Wendy's restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale and offered them a place to stay for the night.
No one heard from him or saw him after that. On November 1st, Broward Sheriff's deputies were called to Blaugrund's apartment by his neighbors who had complained about a strong smell coming from it.
After knocking on the door and getting no response, they had the apartment management open the door. Inside the ransacked apartment they found Blaugrund's body. Investigators believe Blaugrund was killed during the commission of a robbery.
The Broward County Medical Examiner's Office determined Blaugrund had been strangled and died of asphyxiation.
On December 20th, a grand jury issued an indictment for Sachs for her role in Blaugrund's death. Through her attorney, Sachs had arranged to turn herself in to deputies on December 21st, but she never showed.
On November 1st, detectives caught up to her in the 1700 block of East Sunrise Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale and took her into custody without incident.
