FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- A precautionary boil water notice will be in effect this week for parts of Fort Lauderdale.
City officials say crews will be conducting maintenance on water lines in the Palm Aire Village West neighborhood.
During maintenance starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday, you may experience temporary water service interruption or low pressure. Crews will work overnight until about 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
As a result of the maintenance work, a precautionary boil water notice will take effect Friday morning for the affected properties. The notice will remain in effect for at least two days until bacteriological surveys show the water is safe to drink.
The boundaries of the boil water notice include:
- North: West McNab Road
- East: NW 31st Avenue
- South: NW 62nd Street/Cypress Creek Road
- West: Cove Lake Road
All water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes needs to be boiled. A rolling boil of 1 minute is sufficient. Bottled water can be used as an alternative.
