Jogger discovers body on Hollywood Beach
MIAMI — Hollywood Beach police say a resident was jogging on the beach Thursday morning around 6 a.m. when he stumbled across an older white man lying face down in the sand near the shoreline, just north of Hallandale Beach Blvd.
Police and fire rescue personnel responded. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chopper 4 video of the scene, close to Magnolia Terrace and Ocean Drive, showed several items along the shoreline, including a pair of shoes and a white bag.
Detectives were conducting a death investigation while waiting for the medical examiner's office to remove the body.
