Body Found At SW Dade Construction Site Identified
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Detectives told CBS4 News they have identified the woman found dead at a construction site Saturday. Her name is Tiffany Cabreja of Homestead and she is 18-years-old.
At the construction site, where her body was located, signs said "RIP Tiffany" and friends left flowers, Sunday.
"She was a good girl, you know, it's really sad," Renee Benner, a family friend. "She was a friend of mine's niece, I got a phone call early in the morning."
According to Miami-Dade Police, Saturday, witnesses saw a commercial truck travelling eastbound on S.W. 288th Street and as it made a left turn at Southwest 144th, what appeared to be a body fell from the passenger side of the truck.
The suspect, according to investigators as told by witnesses, stopped the truck, placed the body back inside and continued northbound on Southwest 144th Avenue.
Witnesses lost sight of the truck after that.
When officers responded to the area, they discovered the 18-year-old's body in a construction site, according to Miami-Dade Police Department's Homicide Bureau.
Detectives, Saturday, said they fear a child who was seen with the man driving the truck before the woman's death may be missing and with the man, but the child is not Cabreja's.
Neighbors stopping by the scene told CBS4's Maggie Newland they've seen the truck in the neighborhood before, but no one seems to know who the man and child are.
Benner believes someone knows who the driver of the truck is and she hopes for the sake of Cabreja's family police find out soon.
"Come forward because it could be your husband it could be your brother it could be your next door neighbor," said Benner.
Detectives are asking law enforcement and the public to be on the lookout for a white, commercial truck with black rails and writing on the driver-side door. The cargo bed of the truck, according to authorities, is equipped with a roll up tarp.
The suspect is described by MDPD as a white male in his 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with black hair and was wearing a dark colored t-shirt with jeans when he was last seen.
The cause of the Cabreja's death is unknown.
