Black Friday Shoppers Already Staking Out Spots
PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami/AP) – All in the name of a getting a great deal, Black Friday shoppers are already waiting in front of some stores.
In Pembroke Pines, two tents have already been pitched in front of a Best Buy store on Pines Boulevard. The eager shoppers apparently leave during the day but come back and sleep in their tents at night.
In Tampa, 21-year old Rick Hilton has already staked out his spot in front of a Best Buy location; it is the store he has shopped at since he was in ninth grade. He said he's looking for deals on a computer and flat-screen television for his grandmother.
Hilton and two other shoppers lined up Friday in anticipation for the long lines on the day after Thanksgiving. By Saturday afternoon, two more shoppers claimed a spot.
Hilton and some other shoppers reunite once a year for this event, pitching tents to sleep in at night and playing football in the parking lot when the store closes.
