Big Lottery Ticket Unclaimed, Worthless After Monday
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - Can you afford to ignore $87,297? If not, now is the time to check that drawer full of old Florida lottery tickets. There's one out there that could put a lot of cash in your pocket, but if it's not found by 11:59 pm. Monday, it'll be nothing more than a piece of paper.
Lottery tickets are good for 180 days after they're drawn. If not claimed, the cash goes back to the state. The Fantasy 5 ticket for $87 thousand and change was drawn March 2nd, and thus, expires August 29th.
The ticket was sold at the Rightway Food Store on US 17 in De Leon Springs, west of Daytona Beach, but it could have been purchased by someone passing through, who might not realize they are holding a winner.
