MIAMI (CBS4) - While the smell of smoke wasn't lingering over eastern South Florida on Wednesday morning, a raging wildfire to its west continues to burn.
The Jarhead wildfire in the Big Cypress National Preserve has so far scorched more than 36 thousand acres.
The fire was sparked on April 26th by a lightning strike. As of Wednesday, the fire was 70 percent contained. The park service does not expect to have the fire fully contained until May 18th.
Nearly 350 firefighters from across the state, and the country, are battling the massive fire.
