'Better Burger' Chain To Make North American Debut In Doral
DORAL (CBSMiami) – A Colombia-based hamburger chain has selected Doral for its first United States location.
El Corral will offer burgers made with locally grown vegetables, 100 percent certified Angus beef and a variety of gourmet toppings, the South Florida Business Journal reported.
According to its Facebook page, the new burger joint will open in December at 7780 NW 25th Street, near the Palmetto Expressway. The company is now hiring.
Headed by CEO Claudio Arcuri, El Corral opened in Bogota in 1983 and has 200 restaurants in Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Panama.
New York-based venture capital firm Astor Capital said Tuesday it was investing in the burger chain for an aggressive North American expansion.
"We believe that El Corral can become the premier destination in the growing 'better burger' segment," said Seth Zalkin, Astor Capital's managing partner, in a statement.
