Jewfish Creek Bridge

at Mile Marker 107 connects the mainland to Key Largo

The $93-million, 65-foot bridge was recently unveiled in May of 2008 and measures 1 1/4-mile long connecting Key Largo to the mainland. The bridge is also mentioned as a "splendor" by the National Scenic Byways Program. The bridge is closed down once a year to make room for runners who use it to raise funds for local charities.

Seven Mile Bridge

Florida Keys from Mile Marker 40 to 47

When it was completed in 1982, the $45 million bridge was considered the longest segmental bridge in the world built to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour. It is 65-feet tall to allow for boats to pass through. It's also considered the highest point in the Florida Keys. It connects the city of Marathon in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. It has appeared in numerous television shows and movies including True Lies and Up Close & Personal.

MacArthur Bridge

Connects Miami Beach to the mainland

The MacArthur Causeway that was built in 1920 measures about 3.5 miles from the mainland to the island. At its highest point, the bridge measures 68-feet. Now, the causeway withstands the pounding from hundreds of thousands of cars daily. It offers great views of the cruise ships that line the nearby Port of Miami.

Henry E. Kinney Tunnel

Under the New River and Connects U.S. 1 to Las Olas Boulevard
Well, it's not exactly a bridge. It's an anti-bridge of sorts, but it's special because it's the only tunnel in South Florida. It only measure 864-feet, and was built in 1960.  The tunnel is named after the former chief of the Fort Lauderdale/Broward Edition of the Miami Herald who lobbied for its construction in the late 1950s.

Hollywood Boulevard Bridge

links Hollywood Boulevard to the mainland

The Hollywood bridge has received a makeover and now features a new façade including a brand new gatehouse tower, a decorative pedestrian walkway and even sports a new  observation deck.  It crosses over the Intracoastal Waterway and is pedestrian friendly.
