Best Peruvian Food In South Florida

Fresh flavors and aromatic spices set food from Peru apart from all others.  Ceviche, an appetizer of small pieces of raw fish marinated in lime or lemon juice, often with onions, peppers and spices is a staple of Peru's coastal region. If you've never had Peruvian food and are wondering where to go, why not check out our top picks.

Tucked away in a strip mall on Federal Highway, Fusion and Flavors is a small, cozy place with excellent food.  The seasonings are unique and the staff is attentive and friendly.  If you've never had Peruvian inspired food, try the Ceviche and the Lomo Saltado (grilled steak stir fried with onions & tomatoes) you wont be disappointed.

La Brasa Rotisserie & Grill

3001 W Commercial Blvd
Tamarac, FL 33309
(954) 731-4292

No fine dining at La Brasa, it's strictly counter service.  Place you order, get your ticket and wait for your number to be called.  The place is usually busy, so there could be a short wait.  As for the food, it's worth waiting for.  Their Lomo Saltado is very good and the fries are above average for a Peruvian place. Portions are huge, so be prepared to eat what you get the following day as leftovers.

Aromas Del Peru

Miami, FL 33144
(786) 347-0508
www.aromas-delperu.com

Peruvians will tell you the food at Aromas Del Peru is right on the money for a taste of home.  For an appetizer try the Papa a la Huancaina; boiled potatoes served on lettuce leaves with a creamy white sauce topped with a slice of boiled egg.  This dish's flavors are balanced so that it's not ridiculously spicy to where you can't even taste the flavor just the spiciness. Order the Ceviche as well. They make an excellent Lomo Saltado and Tallarines Verdes (spaghetti with a  creamy sauce made from spinach and basil).

Sabor a Peru

Sabor a Peru serves up huge portions of authentic Peruvian food at reasonable prices.  Not sure where to start?  Try one of their excellent Ceviche.  Their Mixed Ceviche is spicy but does not over power the fresh, citrus flavor and seafood; squid, mussels and white fish.  Their menu is huge, just pick a meat (beef, chicken, fish, seafood) have you can have it cooked in a number of ways (breaded, fried, grilled, marinated).

Ceviche 105 prides itself on serving traditional Peruvian dishes in a modern presentation.  Their namesake dish has bright and intense flavors and the fish is fresh - always Sea Bass.  Portions are generous and the presentation is appealing.  Specialties on the menu include Chicken Aji (pieces of chicken covered in pepper cream, milk, Piso bread and topped with parmesan cheese) and Royal Jalea (crispy pieces of fish and shellfish accompanied with golden cassava, tartar sauce and topped with "sarza" Creole (onion, pepper, lemon, and tomato).
