Miami's Superior Academy of Music offers students the opportunity to learn an instrument and gain the theoretic knowledge that will allow them to appreciate all aspects of music, from piano to wind instruments. Students can receive private music lessons or take group classes. Private lessons are conducted in soundproof booths equipped with interactive whiteboard projectors, and individual music lessons are 30 minutes or one hour. Group classes in music theory, music history, keyboard harmony, ear training and solfège are offered weekly for 50 minutes. Classes are offered to people of all ages with a separate preschool program offered to children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Whether you're a beginner or a musical student returning for advanced or master classes, there is a place for you at MCM. Open year-round, they offer private and semi-private music lessons for 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes to those 5 years old and up. In addition, each student has the opportunity to perform in a recital at the end of each semester. They also have a musical theater program, string ensembles, and classes in digital composition and recording. The Live Modern School of Music believes in giving its students an ear for music by designing a unique approach to the instrument of your choice. For instance, aspiring guitar players will learn re-harmonization and improvisation techniques, while aspiring piano players will learn to master chord structures and transcription. A recording studio is even available on-location to all students. The idea is to use modern technologies (hence the name) to teach aspiring musicians the love of music. Private lessons are given, but they also have intermediate programs that include private lessons and band practice with music theory classes for more advanced students. Placement tests and auditions are required for students seeking advanced placement. Classes offered for ages 5 to adult.
