Described as a spacious, sunny and welcoming library, the North Miami Beach Public Library has materials for adults, teens and children: books, magazines, local and national newspapers, DVD's, videos, books on tapes and music CD's. There is also a wide variety of programs including toddler time, story hour for preschoolers, arts and crafts, reading workshops for parents, and summer reading activities and programs. Computers are available for public use, free of charge and children's computers have educational games and word processing.

The Broward County Library system is the ninth largest library system in the United States. There are 37 branch locations which host over 10 million visitors and circulate nine million items annually. There is a Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, five regional libraries (two are located on Broward Community College campuses), and a host of branches and reading centers throughout the community. The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center is one of only a few such specialized libraries in the country. It features a museum, art gallery, special collections vault and state-of-the-art auditorium.

The Miami Dade Public Library System has 48 branch locations and four bookmobiles. Wi-Fi is available at every location and a wide range of digital resources is offered including downloadable e-books, audio books, music and videos. The system provides more than one thousand literary, cultural and educational programs each month. There are 1,735 public computers, 120 self-checkout machines and a collection of more than 3.8 million books and materials.
