Batter Up To Baseball's All-Star Game
PHOENIX (CBS4) -- There's only one game on Major League Baseball's schedule Tuesday night. It's the All-Star game in Phoenix.
Philadelphia's Roy Halladay starts for the National League, while the American League will send out Jered Weaver of the L.A. Angels.
Halladay started the 2009 midsummer classic for Toronto and will be the fourth pitcher to start for both leagues. He's 11-3 with a 2.45 ERA. Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson will bat leadoff for the AL, followed by Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera and Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez with the Blue Jay's Jose Bautista batting cleanup.
Weaver brings a 1.86 ERA and an 11-4 record into the game. He'll face Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks, Carlos Beltran of the Mets and Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp. Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder bats cleanup.
