Tracking The Tropics: Barry Weakens To Tropical Depression Over Northwestern Louisiana
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Barry weakened to a tropical depression on Sunday, but the storm still brings life-threatening flooding rains to parts of Louisiana.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, Barry was located about 20 miles north-northeast of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Maximum sustained winds are 35 miles per hour and the storm is moving to the north-northwest at 9 miles per hour.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
A motion toward the north-northeast and northeast is expected Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
On the forecast track, the center of Barry will move across the northwestern portions of Louisiana today, and over Arkansas tonight and Monday.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph with higher gusts. These winds are occurring near the coast well to the southeast and south of the center.
Further weakening is expected as the center moves farther inland, and Barry is forecast to degenerate into a remnant low pressure system by Monday night.
