FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A suspected bank robber who led Broward Sheriff's deputies on brief chase didn't get very far.
The sheriff's office said they sent deputies to the TD Bank at 1011 South Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach after receiving information that there was a robbery in progress.
Arriving deputies spotted the man they say is Eric Lamb, 34, trying to escape and gave chase.
It ended in the southbound lanes of I-95, just south of Atlantic Boulevard. Lamb was taken into custody.
"It's crazy that they just got robbed again," said a woman who works as a server at a Tijuana Taxi co. restaurant next to the bank.
She said the bank was robbed just a few weeks ago.
"The last time they got robbed we were here and the guy ran outside and they caught him before he left or anything like that," said the woman.
Another server said she's concerned about the hold ups, wondering if her restaurant could be next.
"I think it's awesome they got him and I hope it doesn't happen again. They need to send more people, not just one," she said.
Police have not said if any money was taken from the bank. The bank was closed for business most of Thursday.
