Aventura Man Dies After Being Struck By Train
AVENTURA (CBS4) - An Aventura man was killed after he was hit by a train after fishing in a nearby canal.
Aventura Police Major William Washa said Ian Campbell, 30, was fishing with a friend in a canal that separates North Miami Beach from Aventura.
Both men tried to cross the nearby railroad track, but Campbell did not make it across in time. His friend, who has not been identified, was not injured.
The train's conductor contacted police to say that he had hit someone near 179th and Biscayne Blvd.
Campbell was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
