Authorities Investigating Police-Involved Shooting In Hialeah
HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Hialeah Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting after a man was shot near a Publix Sabor Tuesday night.
A uniformed Hialeah police officer was working security inside the supermarket when there was a report of a disturbance outside, according to Hialeah Police.
Police are not saying what the disturbance was only that a man in the parking lot was in the commission of some sort of crime.
Authorities said the man was possibly trying to ram a police officer in his car or hit a police officer with a car and that is when the man was shot by Hialeah Police and was transported by air to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Police said it is unclear how many officers fired.
The officer or officers who did fire their weapons will be placed on administrative leave for at least a few days which is standard procedure.
Police are preparing to search the subject's car which remains in the parking lot of the supermarket.
