Atty. General Bondi Lands Speaking Role At Republican Nat'l. Convention
TAMPA (CBSMiami) – The list of high-profile Republican politicians set to speak at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa continued to grow Wednesday.
According to Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker are two of the latest group of GOP heavyweights that will speak to the convention.
The additions of Bondi and Walker add on to a who's who of conservative politicians set to speak at the event including: Senator John McCain, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, Florida Governor Rick Scott, and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, to name a few.
The RNC will also feature multiple Latino speakers, which is a change from previous conventions and a sign of the outreach the party is trying to make to the Latino community.
The big question still hanging over the Romney campaign is who will be his running mate as vice-president. So far, none of the potential finalists have been said to be speaking at the convention. Among the GOP heavyweights that haven't been given a speaking spot, yet: Florida Senator Marco Rubio; Ohio Senator Rob Portman; and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.
The convention is set to be held from August 27-30 and will culminate in the nomination of Mitt Romney on the final night.
