Attorney's Motion Seeks Zimmerman Release On Bond - Again

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) – In a motion released on Monday, an attorney for George Zimmerman wrote that the former neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed 17-year old Trayvon Martin last February posed no threat to the community and should be released again on bond.

Zimmerman was granted a $150,000 bond last April but it was revoked earlier this month after prosecutors accused him and his wife Shellie of misleading the court about how much money they had raised from a website to pay for his legal fees.

A second bond hearing is set for Friday.

Shellie Zimmerman was charged with making a false statement because of her testimony at the bond hearing.

Zimmerman, who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second degree murder, claims he shot Martin in self defense, under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.
