Attorney Wants Charge Dropped Against Woman Accused Of Murdering Officer

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The attorney for a woman accused of murdering her boyfriend, a City of Miami police officer is arguing she should have the charge dropped under the stand your ground defense.

Tiniko Thompson's lawyer filed a court motion arguing Thompson was forced to defend herself against Officer Carl Patrick.

The motion claims Patrick pulled a gun on Thompson in the home they shared, threatened to shoot her and hit her several times.

Police counter that Thompson shot Patrick, wrapped him in a comforter and left him to die.

Thompson's attorney wants the case dismissed.

He is requesting a hearing to decide the matter.
