Astronauts Woken Up By Second Computer Failure
CAPE CANAVERAL (CBS4)-The shuttle astronauts have dealt with another computer problem aboard Atlantis.
After the astronauts went to bed late Thursday afternoon, Mission Control woke them up because of a computer failure in one of the shuttle's five main computers.
The crew switched to a backup computer in less than an hour. Another computer had gone offline on Sunday and was back working by Monday.
NASA says the astronauts will troubleshoot the latest computer problem on Friday. The space agency says the shuttle is in stable condition and there are no concerns for the crew's safety.
Atlantis is parked at the International Space Station and returns from its final voyage next week. The shuttle program is ending after 30 years.
