Artist Wyland Completes Latest Keys Marine Mural
KEY WEST (CBSMiami) - A massive mural depicting of the Florida Keys' underwater world was completed in Key West Sunday by world renowned marine life artist Wyland.
The mural is located in Key West's Historic Seaport, completely replacing an undersea vista Wyland completed there in 1993. Like its predecessor, the new Key West mural wraps around two sides of a large building to provide a panoramic above-water view of the Keys' coral reef and its inhabitants.
Wyland has painted some 100 large-scale marine life murals in U.S. and international locales, including four in the Keys. Throughout his career, he has used his art to encourage protecting and preserving the world's oceans, waterways and marine life.
