Arrests Made In Aventura Home Invasion
AVENTURA (CBSMiami) – Two arrests have been made in a violent home invasion robbery in Aventura which left one man hospitalized with head and leg injuries.
Aventura police said it happened around 3 a.m. Friday at apartment complex on East Country Club Drive.
According to investigators, 23-year old Michael Robinson, two other males and a teen girl went to an apartment on the 18th floor under the pretense of going to party with its resident. Once inside, however, police said they demanded the man's money.
When he refused to hand it over, things turned violent. Police said they struck the man in the head and at one point shots were fired and he hit in the leg. The man was taken to Memorial Hospital in Hollywood where he's listed as stable.
Based on a description of the robbers and their vehicle, police arrested Robinson and the teen girl on Saturday. Police are not releasing the girl's name because of her age.
Police said they know who one of the other suspects is and are hoping images from the apartment building's security cameras will help them identify the third male. The two on the loose are considered armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call Aventure Police at (305) 466- 8999 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
