Armed Robbery Suspect Barricades Himself During Police Standoff

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) -- A robbery suspect forced officers into a tense standoff inside a gated Lauderhill community on Wednesday.
According to U.S. Marshals, Marvin Pace, 27, was wanted for a violent armed robbery at a midtown convenience store in March.
During the robbery, two men threatened to shoot a store clerk and her 9-month-old baby unless their demands for cash were met.
Investigators said Pace held a gun to the baby's head before taking off with the money.
On Wednesday, City of Miami Police detectives and the U.S. Marshal task force went to the Lauderhill complex at 3498 N.W. 14th court, where they identified Pace walking outside.
As the officers approached, they said Pace barricaded himself inside a home and refused to come out.
Cameras captured about a dozen agents surround the home, including two that were up on the building's roof, before sending a dog and robot to first check inside.
Pace was found hiding inside the laundry room, officials said, and was apprehended.
The store clerk and her child were not hurt during the alleged robbery.
