Armed Robbery At Coral Gables 7-Eleven
CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – Coral Gables Police are looking for a robber and a getaway driver who allegedly pulled into a parking space right in front of the 7-11, robbed it and left with cash.
Police dusted for fingerprints and talked to the two clerks who were inside at the time of the robbery.
According to police, just before 8:00 p.m. Thursday night, a man came into the 7-11 at the intersection of SW 8th Street and Salzedo Street wearing a mask and a hood. He apparently showed a revolver and took cash. Police also said the man ran back to the car where a getaway driver was waiting and they took off down Salzedo.
"There was a customer inside who's a regular customer so they're looking to speak with him again. He gave them a partial tag. So we're looking for him to come back so our detectives can interview him," said Officer Kelly Denham with Coral Gables Police Department.
She said police would like to speak with anyone who might have witnessed something unusual in the area, "anyone driving by who saw a vehicle maybe driving erratically southbound on Salzedo Street,"
The driver of the car was described as having bushy eyebrows, but that is the only description police have. They hope surveillance video from inside the store will help them.
