Armed Man Storms Into 7-Eleven, Robs $50

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami-Dade Police are searching for a man they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint.
Authorities tell CBS4's Peter D'Oench that detectives want to know if this criminal is a serial robber who has victimized other businesses in North Miami-Dade and Miami Gardens in the past few months.
Surveillance cameras rolled as the man - concealing his face with a black bandana - walked into a 7-Eleven store located at 1000 NE 215 Street around 11:30 a.m.
Officers said he was armed with a gun which he used to point at the cashier and demand cash.
He reportedly got away with $50 and ran off into a grey sedan waiting outside for him.
No one was injured in the incident, but customers say this could have been deadly.
"First of all, it's ridiculous and she's doing the right thing trying to earn a living and then you have someone else that's coming in that has no respect for humans, you know, so it's pretty sad," said store customer Cassandra Little. "You see it all the time around here where people get robbed and get away with a little anything."
"It makes me mad because the rest of us are working hard for our money. Why go come and pester somebody else that is working hard for their money," said store customer Johnye Hoppe. "Get off your bottom and go work yourself."
"I just think it's a shame that you can't go to work and make a living without fear," said store customer Richard Pleasant. He said, "She's 42. She is someone's mother. You can't hurt women."
They are looking into whether he is the same suspect who just this past Tuesday stormed into a Diamond Girl Beauty Supply store on N.W. 27th Ave. at N.W. 160th St in Miami Gardens and pointed a gun at a clerk and then scooped a number of items from the cash register and put them in his baggy pants.
Employees at that store who saw the new surveillance tape from the 7-Eleven store told D'Oench they believe it is the same suspect. Anyone with information in the case is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-Tips.
