Aquatic Adventures: Diving With Sharks In The Bahamas
NASSAU (CBS4) -- In this edition of Aquatic Adventures, CBS4's Jeff Berardelli goes a little extreme when he goes diving with sharks off the coast of Nassau in the Bahamas without any shark cages.
There was nothing more than a few inches of water between Jeff and the most feared predators in the ocean.
The dive took place at a site called "Ray of Hope" which is a big freight vessel in about 120 feet of water. The wreck sits about 70-feet deep and once in the water, the sharks come quick. They're used to being fed everyday so they arrive like clockwork. There are about 40 of them. The largest are females, about 8-10 feet and 400 pounds.
The dive, organized by Stuart Coves, was about getting acclimated in the water and becoming comfortable around the sharks. Next week, they'll actually feed the sharks.
