Another Soggy Day, Drier Air On The Way

MIAMI (CBS4) – Another soggy morning in South Florida.

After Sunday morning and afternoon's rain, Monday morning got off to a similar start due to plenty of moisture in place associated with a tropical wave, according to CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez. The National Hurricane Center said this weak trough of low pressure has a zero chance of developing into a tropical cyclone as it moves towards the northwest about 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Regardless of development, all the moisture will keep the rain chance high with scattered showers and storms possible throughout the day. Some of the storms may produce heavy downpours in spots, dangerous lightning and wind gusts as high as 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Monday morning got off to a mild, muggy start with the low 80s now. Highs will warm to the upper 80s in the afternoon. When the humidity is factored in it will feel like the 90s or possibly the 100s.

On Tuesday, as the moisture begins to move out, we could see some lingering storms before the return of some sunshine. The Saharan Dust returns along with high pressure to usher in drier air and lower our rain chance. By the middle to the end of the week we will see the hazy skies across South Florida. Highs will climb to the low 90s and it will feel more like the triple-digits due to the humidity.
