Another Record Week For Lottery Scratch Off Games
TALLAHASSEE (AP) — It was another record breaking week for the Florida Lottery's scratch off games.
On Monday, lottery officials announced that it sold $74 million worth of scratch-off lottery tickets during the week that started March 4. This is the fifth-straight week that the lottery has broken its weekly sales records.
Last week, the Florida Lottery launched a new $20 scratch-off ticket. Florida Lottery officials said the state has joined two other lotteries in New York and Massachusetts where weekly scratch-off sales exceed $70 million. Florida usually sells 60 different types of scratch-off tickets at one time.
The lottery is projected to sell $4.9 billion worth of tickets during the state fiscal year that ends June 30.
