"Animal Friend" Plates Fund Local Animal Shelters
MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Our pets do so much for us. So why not do something for them?
The state's county license tag offices are selling license plates that generate money for nonprofits and government-run animal shelters.
Each plate sold generates $25 to the groups, helping to cut down on the booming pet population.
One group that stands to benefit is the Humane Society of Broward County, which recently won a $25,000 grant to help spay and neuter an additional 100 pit bulls and 900 cats.
