Andrews Avenue Drawbridge Closed This Weekend
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Fort Lauderdale drivers should avoid the Andrews Avenue drawbridge over the New River this weekend because it'll be shut down for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
Andrews Avenue between Las Olas Boulevard and SE 5th Street will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Friday, June 15 at 9:00 pm through Monday, June 18 at 6:00 am.
A detour plan has been prepared to divert north/southbound Andrews Avenue traffic to SE 3rd Avenue via Las Olas Boulevard and SE 7th Street.
Boat traffic on the New River should not be impacted because the bridge will be stowed in the up position or be available to open throughout the duration of the project.
