America's "Best" Cities?
MIAMI (CBS4) - "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Mark Twain didn't really say that, but it's true.
The cold summers, ridiculously priced real estate and all sorts of other problems didn't stop Business Week and Bloomberg from choosing the City by the Bay as America's best city.
Seattle, Washington D.C., Boston, Portland and Denver followed San Francisco at the top.
The only warm weather city to make the top ten was San Diego.
Miami and Fort Lauderdale didn't make the top fifty!
The only Florida city that did was Tampa at thirty four.
Anchorage, Alaska made it, even though it gets nasty cold, barely has daylight in January and has so much daylight in July you can barely sleep.
Rochester, New York, Indianapolis, Houston and very troubled Oakland made the top fifty as well.
Huh? Better than Florida cities? Have the people who compile these lists ever been to all those places? I have, and trust me, I wouldn't want to visit them again, much less live there.
Give me South Florida any day.
